The Art of Living: More Than a Yoga Retreat

Finding simplicity, connection, and inspiration in the jungle of Costa Rica.
When people think about a yoga retreat, they often imagine days filled with yoga classes, meditation, healthy meals, and relaxation.
And yes, all of those things can be part of the experience. But for me, a retreat has always been about something more.
It is about the art of living.
After nearly three decades of teaching yoga and many years exploring different therapeutic traditions, I’ve come to appreciate that some of our most meaningful experiences don’t necessarily happen during a yoga class or a therapy session.
Sometimes they happen while preparing a meal together, walking barefoot in the garden, listening to the rain, creating something with our hands, or simply allowing ourselves to do nothing.
A Retreat That Feels Like Home
Casa Om is not a luxury resort. It is my home, surrounded by the beautiful nature of Costa Rica.
I welcome a small number of guests because I love the intimacy of sharing a space where people can slow down, feel comfortable, and experience a different rhythm of life.
Each retreat is personal. Some people come to deepen their yoga and meditation practice. Others are looking for emotional support, self-exploration, rest, or simply time away from their everyday responsibilities.
There is no single formula.
Beyond Yoga and Therapy
Over the years, my journey has taken me through yoga, meditation, transpersonal psychology, hypnotherapy, breathwork, and many other healing arts.
These practices have given me valuable tools, but they have also taught me something simple: our everyday life is an important part of our practice.
Cooking nourishing food, spending time in nature, making art, learning something new, caring for plants, or having a meaningful conversation can all become opportunities for presence and connection.
And sometimes the most valuable thing we can offer ourselves is permission to rest.

Living a Little More Simply
Life in the Costa Rican jungle constantly reminds me that we don’t always need more.
Sometimes we need less noise, fewer distractions, more time outdoors, and the freedom to reconnect with what truly matters to us.
This is something I enjoy sharing with the people who visit Casa Om.
Not a perfect lifestyle or a collection of techniques, but a simple invitation to explore what makes life meaningful.
An Invitation

Whether you come for yoga, a private retreat, a therapeutic experience, or simply a few days of restoration, my intention is to create a welcoming space where you can feel at home.
A place to explore, create, rest, reconnect, and perhaps take a little inspiration back into your everyday life.
Because, in the end, yoga is not only something we practice on a mat.
It is also how we live.
If you'd like to experience the art of living at Casa Om, you're welcome to explore my private retreats in Costa Rica.
With love,
Cristina Kalyani
